Photographer David Burke has captured images with a camera for over 35 years. Some highlights of his career include capturing the images of Nascar, O.J. Simpson during an NFL game (pre-trial of course), President Ford on the campaign trial and Mrs. Betty Ford at the opening of the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.
Burke has generally enjoyed sports photography the best over the years. His current favorite medium is photography with a twist. He creates photo essays in video compilations. He is able to connect with a viewer by marrying the vibe of visual-techno media with the treasured art of still photography.
Continuing education is a crucial aspect of his life and work. Burke recommends two websites to keep up with ever changing tools in the photography field. The National Associated Photoshop Professionals and Digital Photo Pro.
Volunteer work has been an important facet of Burke’s shutterbug lifestyle. Burke recently lent his photographic services to a hemophilia/blood disorder overnight camp. (His wife Laurie was the camp nurse for the week.) He photographed the activities of the otherwise “sheltered” children for them to remember their fun outdoor adventures.
